PET imports up 34% on year Upstream PTA/PX contracts are still unsettled



The US Polyethylene Terephthalate market
remained stable on Feb. 9, as importers continue their struggle with shipping
delays and port congestion. US import PET resin prices were stable on the
week at $1,995-$2,017/mt (90.50-91.50 cents/lb) DDP US West Coast, based on
last-received market talk of pricing in the low 90s cents/lb range. Although no new indications were received prior to market
close, sources indicated that shipping logistics are still deterring buyers on
the West and East Coasts. However, demand is strong. Despite the general stabilization in rates in North America,
there was still a slight upside of $50-10,950/FEU trans-Pacific bookings into
