plastic ethylene prices were higher in Southeast Asia. However, prices dropped
in China and India during the week to June 29, due to weakening demand and an
uncertain economic outlook. According to market sources, inflationary pressures could
cause a decrease in spending power in Asia and affect PE consumption. On June 29, the August ICE Brent crude oil futures rose $7.6-8.5/b
to $117.66-130.25/b. After 20 days of
maintenance LG Chem, a South Korean company, is increasing the production of
its 300,000 mt/year LDPE unit at Yeosu. Market sources cite LG Chem. Sources claimed that shipping cargoes to America were
