South Asia PE: prices rise amid concerns about supply and higher crude oil rates / LLDPE price at $920/mt / South Asian HDPE film at $890/mt - Jun 19, 2025

In the week ending June 18, the South Asian polyethylene industry saw an upward trend in prices due to higher crude oil costs and increased concerns about material availability, given the ongoing tensions in Middle East. According to sources, PE supply for India may be tightened as there could be a shortage of ships to transport cargo to the region. Sources said that despite fewer import offers on the market, some PE grades saw price ideas jump as high as 30/mt. The PE demand in the area is stable. Mumbai-based trader said that the selling ideas have been gradually increasing because of developments in the Middle East, and an upward trend in crude prices.
