Asian Benzene prices slightly firmer as they track upstream naphtha gains / FOB Korea physical markets in contango structure until Sep / US-Asia, US-Europe and US-Asia spreads Widen WOW

On June 27, Asian benzene rose $2.33/mt from the previous day to $723/mt at FOB Korea, tracking increases in naphtha upstream prices. On June 27, crude oil and naphtha price increased. As of the Asian closing, the front-month ICE Brent contract was up 46 Cents/b from the previous session to $68.21/b. The C+F Japan Naphtha Marker was also $1/mt higher, at $569.75/mt. This puts the benzene/naphtha Spread at plus $153.25/mt. According to market sources, benzene production requires a spread between $100 and $150/mt. East China's domestic marker was stable from day to day at Yuan 5,975/mt. CFR China's marker increased by $3/mt on the day at $740/mt.
