rebounding China’s domestic prices■ The steady arbitrage demand from Europe and
the US bolsters prices■ South Korea's LX MMA plans to close the No. 3 MMA plant in September for a scheduled turnaroundAs demand destruction fears
outweighed the rebounding China domestic market, Asian methyl methacrylate and
polymethyl methacrylate markets were stable to weak this week. Due to
spiking Chinese MMA prices, the CFR China MMA marker rose $5-6/mt to $1,807-1,850/mt. China's domestic MMA price was at Yuan 143.36-200.50/mt.
This was an increase of Yuan 416.67-450.50/mt for the day. The CFR China MMA marker fell $2-3/mt week-on-week. CFR China PMMA was flat assessed on the day, and down $30-35/mt
over the week to $2,145-2,180/mt on June 29. It is difficult to transfer higher feedstock costs to
downstream PMMA prices due to lackluster...
