Terephthalate plunged week-on-week, despite similar falls in Europe. While the market continues
to suffer from poor performance in the virgin PET and crude oil markets,
exports have become less feasible due to the strengthening US dollar. According to some regional producers, European buyers are
starting to bid at lower prices as a result of the drastic drop in oil prices. The prices for FD Northwest Europe RPET flakes fell almost
nine months ago to Eur1,780/mt on Oct. 4, a drop from Eur1,800/mt the week before. Prices closed at Eur1760/mt on February 9, 2022, when they
