Asian Paraxylene Prices Drop on Worrying Demand Cues / China PX import volume to drop / Sinopec restarts PTA line

The Asian paraxylene price fell again on March 19 as lower crude prices erased gains from the previous day, while demand remained flat. A Singapore trader said that earlier in the day PX spot and physical prices were stable, but soon after sentiment changed. The trader stated that "prices] rose a little in the morning, but look weak [now]". Another Singaporean trader expects China will lower its PX imports by 2025 due to the weak outlook for demand. The trader stated that although official Chinese monthly customs data are still awaited, PX imports may be "below expectations by a great deal".
