Asian Benzene Prices Fall in Line with Upstream Markets /Oil falls $1.02/b, naphtha drops $6.75/mt /Sinopec increases list price by Yuan100/mt

In tandem with the weakening upstream markets, Asian benzene was $6/mt lower than it was yesterday at $722.33/mt. The front-month Brent contract dropped $1.02/b in the session, to $68. 96/b. The naphtha mark fell by $6.75/mt during the trading session, to $585/mt C+F Japan. Discussions in FOB Korea physical market centered mainly on September loadings. However, some interest was also seen for October, November and December loadings. In the afternoon session, offers for an October-December cargo strip were also made with the condition that at least two of the three months be taken by the buyer. Discussions for September arrivals were heard in CFR China, where the last bids and offers were at $15/mt and 17/mt over the weekly Mean of Korea of September (wMOPK).
