Prices of Asian polyethylene Terephthalate remained the same in the week ending July 9 as demand remained weak following recent production cuts. Asian PET prices were stable at $775/mt for FOB Northeast Asia on July 9, and at $870/mt for FOB Southeast Asia, both stable during the same time period. Participants on the market attributed the low level of interest in bottle-grade PET bottles to seasonal factors. They noted both the summer holiday season lull as well as the off-peak cycle. One trader stated that export sales were poor recently because most of our clients are on holiday.
