European benzene trading fell on Nov. 23,
as the market opened for settlement of December's contract price. Eleven trades were made on
the day within a spread between $730 and $745/mt. The higher end was the most
recent. The forward delivery laycan for
five to thirty days was down $31/mt at $744/mt. December offers were lower
later in the day. Due to rising downstream
energy costs and weak demand from key industries like construction and
