The US methanol spot markets ended the week
on bearish fundamentals as there was little trading activity Nov.
4. Spot price remained steady on the day, but fell 1 cent over the week
ending Nov. 4
at 99c/gal for November, and December respectively. No trades or bids were made
on the day. A trade was made this week for
40,000 barrels at 100c/gal. The
deal was described by one source as a "value purchase." One source described the deal as a "value buy." The source said that while it is a situation of oversupply,
it is possible for sellers to offer spot material at lower prices if there
is enough buying interest.
