In the week ending Nov. 1, the
US acrylonitrile spot markets remained subdued with weak buyer appetite
continuing to impact market dynamics. Spot pricing was stable
over the week, based on US spotacrylonitrile discussed in the $1540-$1,580
range FOB USGC basis. The USA demand is
mixed. A source stated that ABS will be
soft landing at year's end due to inventory controls and TAR season. According to the source, price drops will occur once the
October settlement for polymer-grade propylene occurs. On average, the US PGP settlement will settle for 12-13
cents less per month. After the contract
is settled prices will likely fall to $1,500/mt. Where necessary, we could
export into Asia with landed prices in Asia at 1600s. The...
