The spot US methanol market prices dropped
on July 1st as bids were beaten down and offers were made. This resulted in a
July Methanol Trade. There
were offers as high as 105c/gal FOB ITC, but they gradually fell to 99c/gal FOB
ITC. July spot methanol fell 4 cents to
98c/gal FOB ITC on the day. This was based upon a trade at that level for a
total volume of 30,000 barrels. A source
stated that "I have not seen a bid in 3 weeks" and that "[sellers]
want to find a market". This indicates that demand remains low, which has
