Mexico unchanged for LLDPE and LDPE Argentina sees a small downward in domestic prices



Latin America's linear-low density
polyethylene pricing was higher on the West Coast of South America and in
Brazil on February 9, sources stated, while prices dropped in Argentina and
Mercosur. LLDPE was valued at $1,550/mt-$1,560/mt  in the WCSA.
This is an increase of $80/mt week-on-week, mainly due to US offers that are
continuously lower than Asian ones. Offerings
from the US were as high as $1680/mt-$1690/mt. South America is finally seeing price increases. December's cheap material is gone. A trader stated that US producers have not changed their
offers. The freight rate to Brazil is
currently at $390/mt-$495/mt and $500/mt-$550/mt for the WCSA from China.
However, logistics costs in the USA are significantly lower, with $55-$80 to
Brazil, and $70-$100/mt for the...
