US LLDPE Metallocene drops to nearly $200/mt in the week■ Shell’s PE complex at Monaca to go fully online in Q4
2022. CEO■ Butene import prices down more than $425/mt from May 18Spot exports for linear low-density
polyethylene grades were steady to down over the week of August 3. Hexene-grade
LLDPE was affected by a force majeure. Prices for other grades fell sharply due
to producers' efforts to move inventory despite clogged logistics. Spot LLDPE Butene pricing
was $88 lower on Aug. 3, at $1,290-1,312/mt (58.5-59.5c/lb), while rail car
pricing was discussed at 53-54c/lb. In
August, rail car pricing levels as low as the mid-40s were discussed. LLDPE Hexene was unchanged in its weekly assessment at
$1,400-1,422/mt (63.5-64.5c/lb). Last, however, discussed rail car pricing at
58-59c/lb. NOVA Chemicals declared a force
majeure in July on LLDPE...
