Dec. 21 ahead of the holiday season. Sources said that the price of
deposit-bottle bales rose due to increased export demand for premium material. However,
this did not reflect domestic consumption. Subdued demand led to a
softening of curbside bale prices. The price of recycled PET flake was
quoted in a broad range. There were even offers from Asia-origin importers as
low as the mid-40s Cents/lb CIF Los Angeles port. A supplier stated that
