Asian polystyrene is down $20-25/mt this
week compared to week February 22. A source in Thailand stated that customers
generally have a bearish view of the market. There aren't many inquiries for polystyrene this
week. Likely, they are still depleting their stock in anticipation
that further falls in price. Recent rises in SM [styrene monomer]
could support PS prices. There might have been increased
buying activity before Songkran in April. " The
demand remained muted in week to February 22nd as producers offered at similar
levels or lower than the previous week. Downstream buying interest remains
so-so. The general grade is stable at $1,330-1,370/mt.
This is because demand isn’t strong. Price increases will result in a decrease
