The Asian polyethylene markets saw thin trading in the week to April 16 as buyers remained cautious amid near-term uncertainty. high density polyethylene CFR Fareast Asia stable week over week at $870/mt and linear low density polyethylene CFR Fareast Asia unchanged at $890/mt on April 16. Prices rebounded on April 10 and remained stable over the week following US President Donald Trump's announcement that he would pause sweeping tariffs imposed on dozens of countries for 90 days. However, prices fell again by $10/mt on April 16 day over day on the back of falling futures prices. The most actively traded LLDPE September 2025 futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange fell Yuan 86/mt day over day to Yuan 7131/mt ex-tank on April 16.
