downstream demand, Asian Recycled PET market prices fell in week ending
December 7. Market
sources stated that although buying indications were soft to stable, few trades
were completed as buyers were already covered for December and January loading
shipments. A producer stated that export
inquiries from Europe had begun to drop and trade was likely to slow down ahead
of year-end celebrations. Participants
looked to the virgin PET market for direction. Some felt that virgin PET was
more affordable due to slightly higher premiums than standard grade rPET. Some rPET buyers were forced to withdraw due to low buying
