Due to rising crude oil prices and market
sentiment, Asian low-density plastic ethylene prices were stable to higher
during the week to June 8. Although
demand in Asia was slow, despite Shanghai & Beijing being released from
lockdowns, sentiment has turned positive. As
China gains momentum, sources expect South Asia and Southeast Asia demand to
increase in the coming weeks. Market
sources indicated that there were still concerns about the impact of lower
spending power and inflationary pressures in Asia on PE consumption. The price of South Asian general-purpose, low-density grade
polyethylene, was unchanged over the week and the day at $1.550-2.500/mt CFR
