Asian HDPE - CFR Southeast Asia marker drops $50

Asian high-density plastic ethylene prices dropped in the week ending July 13. Prices
for HDPE film in Southeast Asia fell $50-55/mt compared to the previous week,
at $1,140-1,170/mt CFR SE Asia. However, prices for the same grade of HDPE film
in China dropped $25-30/mt, to $1,065-1,090/mt CRC China. The rising
number of COVID-19 cases in China has impacted the already declining market. According
to a Chinese trader, the government has taken stricter measures to reduce
social isolation and increased testing in several districts. However, a
lockdown in Shanghai cannot be discussed. The Southeast Asia market has
sufficient stock to allow them to operate...
