In line with stronger Asian market
sentiment, high-density polyethylene prices rose in Asia in the week to 6/8. Even though China was
freed from lockdowns in May, demand did not rise as much as anticipated. According to market sources, the next round of overseas
offers into Asia would push prices higher as many markets in Asia have
bottomed. The prices of HDPE film grade
were higher at $10-15/mt, $1,390 CFR South Asia. Injection and blow molding
grades rose $10-15/mt, $1,370-1,400/mt, and $1,380-1,420/mt, respectively, due
to higher tradable indicators heard at the Market. Sources claim that the local supply of HDPE was not
adequate. A trader stated that sufficient
quantities of HDPE were not imported during domestic plant...
