and Europe markets are being viewed by recyclers■ Unstable quality dampens tradeIn the week ending Aug. 3, Asian recycled low-density
polyethylene prices fell. China was the main buyer, according to a trader.
However, China's demand is extremely low due to economic uncertainty. Sources
also stated that 100% recycled film was not being traded due to inconsistencies
in mechanical properties. Most of the recycled manufacturing was bespoke and
strictly tailored to the customer's requirements. Some recyclers
considered sending material to the US and Europe, as they were more
affordable. Many recyclers did not have the necessary certifications
required by the US buyers or Europe. According to a trader, shipping costs
from Southeast Asia to America were $800/mt (or $20,000/FEU) and Southeast Asia
to Europe cost $600-$700/mt (17000/FEU). An...
