Prices of Asian caprolactam continued to decline in the week ending March 20 due to cautious sentiment and increased inventory pressure. Asian caprolactam was $1,415/mt for CFR Far East Asia on March 20, a $20 decline, based on a tradeable indication of $1,415-1,420/mt. CFR Southeast Asia, meanwhile, was also $20 less at $1,405/mt on March 20 to match the CFR Far East Asia change. Prices continued to drop on the Chinese domestic market. The most traded molten grades fell Yuan 400 from week to week, at Yuan 9,800-9900/mt. According to a source on the market, volatile benzene and trade uncertainty continue to impact market sentiment even though conditions have improved over the last week.
