The US methanol market was liquid and
stable at the beginning of the week Nov. 21. US spot methanol was unchanged at 93c/gal FOB
USG for November and December. Due to a lack in trades and bids,
only one December offer was made. According to one source, market
demand could remain low in the week leading up to the US Thanksgiving holiday because
many market participants will be away on vacation. Market
conditions remain favorable with healthy production and tepid demand. Methanol
prices in Europe were falling at the start of the week Nov. 21, in a
highly-supplied market. The FOB Rotterdam spot price for
November deliveries was Eur309.75-320.95/mt. December's price was Eur314-324/mt.
Both are lower than Nov. 18, when methanol prices were in a contango market. According...
