Fundamentals in European oxo alcohol
markets were muted through the New Year. Illiquid pricing was seen across
the market during the week to Jan. Pricing remained stable in the n–butanol market.
In the early days of January, there was feedback that parity had been
established with December's pricing levels. Pricing
movements in the n-butanol market were limited. There was no feedback received
that it was parity with December's prices in the early days of January. This is
in line the distributor's suggestion of pricing below Eur1,350-1,358/mt. This
mirrors the downwards pricing movement in 2-EH. The spot
price of iso-butanol exported was assessed at $1,070/mt FOB Rotterdam on Dec.
15, a $10 decrease from the domestic pricing. Eur1,650-1,658/mt
