Asia PE: Slow trade as traders return from regional holidays / Chinese PMI falls to a seven-month low CPSC acquired by Aster Chemicals

In the week leading up to May 7, Asia's polyethylene markets were quiet, as participants had just returned from a number of regional holidays. In China, the prices remained stable during the May Day holiday, which ran from May 1-5. HDPE film was unchanged from week to week at $860/mt FAR East Asia. LLDPE film was also unchanged at $870/mt FAR East Asia. LDPE remained the same week to week at $1040/mt. On May 6, the most actively traded LLDPE futures September 2025 on the Dalian Commodity Exchange recovered, rising Yuan 36/mt from day to day. They reached Yuan 7046/mt Ex-tank by May 7.
