likely to be further lockdowns in major Chinese cities such as Shanghai and
Beijing. This would limit demand for downstream derivatives. A China-based end user
stated that petrochemical prices had dropped after Golden Week and that there
was no prospect of China making a rapid recovery in terms of demand. The Asia naphtha market is not subject to seasonality, where
the market becomes stronger towards the end of the year. Sources said that the market has been affected by low demand
from China, as well as competitive pricing for LPG to replace steam cracker
