Due to declining crude oil prices, and
bearishness within the downstream sector, Asian paraxylene fell for a fourth
consecutive session on July 14. Asian PX
fell $32-37/mt to $1,067-1,100/mt CRU Unv1/China and $1.047-2.500/mt FOB Korea
on July 14. The September ICE Brent crude oil futures
contract fell $2-4/b to $98.50-103.50/mt at the Asian close on July 14. Meanwhile,
downstream September purified terephthalic Acid futures in China extended
losses at Yuan 5,444-5,600/mt from the beginning of the week. As the
strength of the energy complex and the decline in gasoline demand waned, weaker
feedstock pricing support and slow demand in China's end-user market pushed
down the price of the PX. In a volatile market, trade momentum
