The spot US methanol market prices remained
unchanged as there were few market indications reported Nov. 8. Thin buying sentiment
remained constant on the day, as there were few new bids and trades. Both November and December spot prices for methanol were
unchanged at 98c/gal FOB USG. Both
assessments received higher offers and retained the market structure. Sources said that demand for derivative formaldehyde, which
is used in construction, continues to be low due to the high interest rates and
fears about a recession. After a surge of
trading activity on Nov. 7, global demand for methanol remained low as European
