US Gulf Coast benzene declined Nov. 3 due
to falling styrene costs weighing down November FOB USG. This was a 4 cents
decrease on the day, and the lowest value since Sept. 29, which was 294
cents/gal. Since
Oct. 20, when the spot price peaked at 338c/gal, it has been falling. A market source stated Nov. 3 that "everyone is
watching Europe styrene prices." It
seems to be weakening more and more. US
Gulf Coast November spot Styrene was at $999/mt Nov. 3, a $61 decrease on the
day and $181.50 lower than its Oct. 7 peak of $1,180.50/mt This price is at its lowest level since Sept. 1 when it was
