February, March spot stable at 122.5 cents/gal FOB USG Sources expect the market to soon react to
European dealings



The US spot methanol spot
was stable as there was only one March offer reported by market participants on
February 8. February spot methanol was flat at
122.5c/gal FOB USAG. This was based upon last market indications and no new
activity. March spot methanol was
unchanged at 122.5c/gal FOB USG. It also came under a March offer at 125c/gal
FOB ITC. One source stated that activity
will increase in the coming week, despite the absence of market participation
since February 7. According to the source,
prices will follow European market trends as Europe's market saw higher prices
