US May benzene remained
steady at 404c/gal on April 28, despite the higher crude futures. As a result, the focus shifted toward ongoing contract negotiations. Sources indicated that there would be a slight movement in
the May contract price of plus or minus 2c/gal. The April contract price was settled at 409c/gal. After the close of the 10-day trade window to inform
benzene's contract price, negotiations began. The settlement for May can be expected as soon as April 29. Due to a strong focus on contract negotiations, liquidity
was limited and discussions were little changed. Benzene traders, buyers, and sellers continued to watch
styrene maintenance schedules and restarts for updates. This was in
