market closed, saw Asian high-density polyethylene prices remain stable. Sources said that India's
market declined due to weak demand. According
to traders, imports remained expensive as most Asian currencies declined
against the dollar. Sources said that
there was a disjoint in prices between upstream and downstream for several
months. For example, when crude oil and feedstock olefins were high,
polyolefins prices continued their slide. Traders
stated that the first half was difficult for producers and end users, but this
has changed with PE prices now in line with the production costs in the second
part of the year. A trader stated that the
