US July DDP-benzene rose 11 cents/gal to
491c/gal on July 18, in line with gains in upstream energies. RBOB gasoline was up
5.11c/gal to $3.2643/gal on Jul 18, an increase of 1.60%. WTI crude oil futures rose $5.01/bl to $102.60/bl. This is
an increase of 5.13% Benzene increased by
2.29% during the day. On July 18, the
benzene to crude ratio was 2.01, down from 2.07 on Jul 15. This ratio was almost equal to the historical average of 2. One source noted that benzene has been following crude
futures more than gasoline futures in recent years and that demand for benzene
