Asian FOB Singapore MTBE fell $57.50/mt to
$867.50/mt Nov. 28. This was due to weak trade activity and lower crude oil
prices. During the Market on Close
assessment Nov. 28, Philips 66 International Tradings offered up to $888-898/mt
FOB Singapore for a 2,000 mt loading December 19-23. No buyers showed interest. The factor
remained at 1.225 as MTBE prices remained lower than the advertised prices. A trader
said that market participants expected the arbitrage window between China and
Southeast Asia to remain closed this week due to low sentiments due to protests
in China as well as the countrywide increase in COVID-19 cases. Over the
weekend, protestors demonstrated in major Chinese cities, including Beijing,
