The Asian polyethylene market experienced little change in the week ending July 9, despite limited trading activity. HDPE film remained stable at $870/mt, CFR Far East Asia. LLDPE remained stable at $860/mt, CFR Far East Asia. LDPE was up $5/mt to $1,030/mt, week on week, July 9. There were few offers and trades in China and Southeast Asia this week due to trade tariff concerns. US President Donald Trump said that 14 countries, mainly from Asia including South Korea and Japan, will be subject to tariffs of up to 40% starting August 1, unless agreements are made with the US in advance.
