Spot trading in Asia saw a slight increase
in Nov. 17, buoying spot prices despite weak olefins margins. South Korea's Yeochun NCC purchased at least
25,000 mt of naphtha at a premium of $5-6/mt above the Mean of Japan naphtha
assessment, CFR pricing 45 days before delivery. A source familiar with the
matter confirmed the matter. The spot paraffinic naphtha parcels
were subject to higher cash differentials. They were valued at $10-15/mt at
Nov. 16 Asian closing, an increase of $3.75-4.89/mt over the MOPJ naphtha
physical on a CFR Japan base. This rebound was from the Oct. 13 low
of minus 25c/mt, which was nearly a month ago. A producer
said that premiums are now rising in tandem...
