Sluggish demand had quashed discussions for
spot cargoes, leaving participants to focus attention on term negotiations in
the Asian benzene market. Although some cargoes were fixed earlier for December,
most materials were absorbed by trading houses, said a source. As most end users were not actively replenishing
feedstocks, the FOB Korea benzene mark fell to $792.67-820.50/mt on Nov 10,
after an offer for any December FOB Korea cargo at $793-810/mt. A trade open
was also heard at $793-810/mt before that offer. Januarybenzene-naphtha
spread paper had inched up in values, with bids heard above$130-150/mt. Flat prices
and time spread quotations were not much discussed.
