The US spot export polypropylene levels
remained unchanged from Dec. 15-21. Prices remained at a more-than two-year low
due to low demand and concerns about inclement weather. Spot export PP was not affected by any new
information during the week ending Dec. 21. Market feedback indicated a lull
during the holiday season. A source stated that "all quiet
will finish 2022." In the days leading to Christmas,
temperatures will be freezing on the Gulf Coast. A second source stated that
this "is putting everyone on edge." According
to a third source, the freeze that struck the US Gulf Coast in February 2021
caused several weeks-long closures. This means that producers will likely be
more proactive...
