US Gulf spot methanol rose on February 16,
as traders returned to the market and trading activity picked up. One source claimed that a
February spot trade was recorded at 112 cents/gal FOB ITC on Feb. 15, in an
environment of "lackluster" market activity. This was in a market that had seen falling bids and widening
offer spreads the day before. It was
expected that trading activity would be limited due to the International
Methanol Producers and Consumers Association's (IMPCA) conference in Miami. Sources said that the market was quiet and that activity had
