Sources said that there were few spot
offers available on the Asian ethylene market, which led to a lot of activity
on July 28. Many
participants preferred to discuss spot cargoes floating in the light of the
upstream volatility as well as persistent weakness in downstream markets. The demand for September arrivals is bullish due to further
operating cuts at Asia's naphtha-fed steam crackers. In the face of market uncertainty, some traders stated that
they continue to receive inquiries about September but prefer to negotiate on a
flexible basis. However, August buying
