The price of Asian Paraxylene has been rising day by day in line with the higher crude oil prices. Asian paraxylene is up $8/mt for the day, at $835.33/mt F.R. Taiwan/China on May 21. Crude oil futures rose more than 1.5% during Asian morning trading on May 21, as reports surfaced that Israel was preparing to strike Iranian nuclear facilities. This could disrupt oil supply from the Middle East's main producer. This change in sentiment helped to support PX spot prices. A trader from China stated that "today [the] PTA Futures [are] facing a] huge rebound due to [oil prices recovering]".
