high oil prices■ Prices for aromatics soar■ The US demand is expected to last at most until August





Due to rising crude oil prices, and higher
prices for US gasoline blendstocks, Asian paraxylene was valued at $82.83-88.50/mt
or $1,352-1,380/mt CFR unv1/China on June 3. GS Caltex's July lay can bids rose to $1370-1400/mt. CFR unv1/ China during a Market on Close
assessment. This was an increase of $1,314-1,360/mt.
CFR at the beginning of the MOC. Asian
traders claim that US aromatics prices increased significantly this week
because of strong gasoline demand, lower refinery operations rates, and higher
oil prices. FOB US Gulf Paraxylene was $5-6/mt
more overnight at $1563-1600/mt. DDP USG
