Asian isomer-grade mixedxylene rose $10/mt
on day to $833/mt FOB Korea. It was up $8/mt @ $857/mt CRU Unv1 and up 1/mt on
Jan. 5, following higher paraxylene. Also, it rose $1/mt to $844/mt CRU
Unv1/China. Upstream
markets saw March ICE Brent crude oil futures continue sliding. They fell
$1.82/barrel to $78.58/b at 0830 GMT. In China, the January price for
ex-tank cargoes was Yuan 6,770-6.790/mt or $843.40/mt based on an
import-parity basis. February was
heard at Yuan 6,810-6.820/mt, or about $847.80/mt on an
import-parityb>/b>basis. It wasn't
immediately clear whether the company would sell such large volumes during
January. Sources say that some volumes
were sold to Chinese PX producers due to improved margins in January. This was
not immediately clear.
