Asian paraxylene rose $3.58/mt
to $1,023.58/mt CFR Unv1/China Oct. 18 and $1,003.58-$1,043.98/mt FBO Korea
Oct. 18. This was due to an increase in trading liquidity thanks to an uptrend
on adjacent markets. On
the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, the most traded January purified Terephthalic
Acid futures increased 1.7% to Yuan 5,418-Yuan 5,458/mt. This was due to higher
crude oil prices and logistical issues in China which impacted shipments. Participants were optimistic about tightening supply after
the news of possible turnarounds at China's paraxylene- and PTA unit units. Hengli purchased one January cargo of Asian origin from
