Asian isomer-grade mixed xylene rose $30-35/mt
to $986-1020/mt FOB Korea and $986-1020/mt CRU Unv1. However, it was unchanged
at $972-1000/mt CRU China on Aug. 18, as it tracked rising upstream and downstream
markets. The
H2 September isomer MX FOB Korea was strongly bid up in the afternoon. This was
in line with downstream paraxylene, which rose $19-24/mt to $1,075-1,100/mt CIF
China. Naphtha, however, increased from $22-27/mt to $681.59-710.50/mt CIF Japan. The domestic market in China fell and was heard at Yuan
7,530-7540/mt September ex-tank East China at an import parity of approximately
$954-979/mt. According to customs data,
South Korea exported a staggering 105,242 tonnes in July, an increase of 66.5%
