Caltex registered February bids in the Market on Close evaluation process Dec.
9. GS Caltex purchased cargo from Total for
$918/mt, while SK Geocentric purchased cargo from Hengli for $917/mt. Sources said
that January cargoes were being sold at discounts because there weren't any
January bids or offers. PTA producers based in China said
that they expected to reach a conclusion on the 2023 term contract negotiations
next week as the spread of bid-offer offers had narrowed. PTA buyers
are hoping for a settlement of term contracts at minus $2/mt CFR Taiwan/China,
