As August lay cans were less bullish, the
Asian benzene market encountered some resistance in extending its upward trend. FOB Korea benzene physical
marker stood at $1,451-1,480/mt on June 9th, down $10-15/mt over the previous
day. One cargo was traded at $1,470-1,500/mt July loading FOB Korea. Two July benzene papers contracts for $1,430-1,470/mt and
$1,425-1,450/mt were traded in morning trade hours. They were then offered
lower later in the afternoon at $1.410-2.500/mt. One bid was made at $1,400-1,440/mt. July benzene paper was $1,405-1,450/mt. China's buying appetite appeared to be slowing as there were
no floating bids at all during the session. Although prices were strong in the US and there was no
shortage of bids, sources said that arbitrage trade execution was more
difficult due...
