Asian Orthoxylene: FOB Korea prices rise on April bids / South Korean producers do not offer spot cargoes / Chinese producer sells 10,000 mt of April OX

Orthoxylene FOB Korea was up $20/mt from the previous week to $981/mt by March 21. This increase was primarily due to cargo bids for April. CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia remained flat due to lack of demand. India was the main buyer, but FOB Korea buyers complained about a shortage of spot cargoes. Reliance Industries in India, the largest refiner in India, did not supply OX cargoes into the market. This led to a shortage of Indian OX cargoes. Indian phthalic hydride producers were left searching for spot cargoes. Asian sources reported that South Korean producers did not offer any spot cargoes in April and only provided term-contracted goods to buyers.
